SACRAMENTO, CA 3/21/2012 5 p.m.

TONIGHT: Clouds will increase across the area as a cold front approaches.  A chance for rain will develop after midnight.  Low temperatures will be upper 40s. Snow showers will drop from 8,500 feet to 7,500 feet overnight. Lows in the mid 30s for Lake Tahoe.

THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy with mainly morning showers for the valley.  Snow and rain are likely in the Sierra. Snow level will be between 7,000-7,500 feet. Highs in the mid 60s in the valley and low 50s at Lake Tahoe.

FRIDAY: Partly cloudy with valley highs in the mid 60s. Sierra highs will be in the upper 40s.

THIS WEEKEND: Rain is likely Saturday with highs in the mid 50s. Sierra highs will be in the 40s. A chance of showers continues Sunday with valley highs in the 50s. Cooler for the Sierra with highs in the 30s.
